In-house training programmes

We have introduced and developed in-house programmes to train employees to a level where they are sufficiently skilled to replace employees who we expect will retire in the next five to 10 years. Our four-year advanced engineering programme has proved very popular.

Wellness programme

Our wellness programme helps our employees maintain good standards of health. Programme benefits include free seminars and full health checks conducted by a local medical clinic, flu vaccinations, optometrist visits and twice weekly Pilates sessions. A health nurse visits Orion each week for employees to discuss any health concerns. As part of the wellness programme, we also offer counselling to assist employees to overcome personal problems which may affect their work performance.

Have your say – we listen and respond

Each year we conduct a staff survey to give our employees the opportunity to express opinions on their working environment. Our most recent survey showed that Orion continues to be viewed as a caring and supportive company and that staff remain satisfied in all areas considered important to them.

Our people often identify areas for improvement via this survey. We listen and develop action plans to make changes, to ensure our employees continue to be happy and fulfilled during their time with Orion.
