Completed transmission upgrade crucial for Canterbury

Orion New Zealand Ltd congratulates Transpower on completing the much needed transmission line upgrade between Livingstone and Christchurch to provide greater transmission capacity for Canterbury and the upper South Island.
“Transpower has worked hard on this crucial project over the last two years and it’s great it’s now complete”, said Orion CEO, Roger Sutton. “The upgrade gives much higher levels of security of electricity supply to consumers – it will significantly help to ‘keep the lights on’ in central Canterbury over the next few years.
