Our energy future

Orion is inviting customers, partners, and the wider community to help shape the future of the region’s electricity network as part of its newly opened Customised Price-Quality Path (CPP) consultation.

“Our commitment is to deliver a safe, reliable, and future-ready electricity network for our community. It’s a responsibility we take a lot of pride in, and certainly not one we take lightly,” says Orion Group Chief Executive, Nigel Barbour.

The consultation focuses on Orion’s plans for FY2028–2032, a period marked by regional growth, evolving technology, and a greater need for network resilience. To meet these challenges, Orion is proposing increased investment to renew and strengthen the network, support new technologies, and ensure the region is prepared for the future—while keeping affordability at the forefront.

“Your feedback will help us balance these priorities. We know affordability matters, and we want to hear from you.”

The CPP consultation is the culmination of extensive engagement across the region, including panels, workshops, surveys, and both digital and printed materials. Community feedback has highlighted the importance of affordable electricity, safety, reliability, resilience, capacity for growth.

We’re listening, and we want to keep the conversation going. Thank you for being part of this important process. Together, we can build a network that serves our region today and for generations to come,” says Nigel.
