Welcoming three new directors to The Orion Group Board
Following our August AGM, we are delighted to welcome three highly respected leaders to The Orion Group Board: Carmen Blackler, David Meates and Vanessa Oakley.
Carmen, David and Vanessa bring an exceptional breadth of experience across health, energy, infrastructure, governance and organisational transformation. Their combined expertise will further strengthen our Board as we continue to deliver for our customers, communities and stakeholders.
Carmen Blackler is an independent energy consultant and professional director with more than 30 years' experience in New Zealand's energy sector. Her expertise spans electricity, gas, emissions trading, risk management, emerging technologies and energy decarbonisation, bringing valuable industry insight to our Board.
David Meates has extensive leadership experience, having served as Chief Executive of the Canterbury and West Coast District Health Boards for more than 11 years and subsequently as Chief Executive of Rowing New Zealand. He continues to contribute through a range of governance and trustee roles and is a Senior Associate of The King's Fund (UK) and a member of the Institute of Directors.
Vanessa Oakley brings extensive executive experience across infrastructure and services organisations in New Zealand and the UK. Her background spans telecommunications, infrastructure, energy, health, insurance and wealth management, with deep expertise in enterprise change, commercial performance and navigating complex regulatory environments.
