Trimming trees safely
Trimming trees near power lines can be extremely hazardous and should not be underestimated. Contact with a power line can cause:
injury or death to yourself, family or passers-by
damage to property and other trees
damage to the electricity network
damage or death to livestock.
We recommend you hire professionals with the necessary expertise and safety procedures to competently carry out tree trimming.
If you intend to work within 4 metres of power lines, request a close approach consent from us before you start. As a tree owner you may be liable for any damage caused by carrying out trimming or felling of trees.
